There are two access routes from the Truckee,
1. Main Route -- for those pulling a rig or who like a
more civilized ride.
Directions from Interstate 80 near TRUCKEE:
Take Exit 188-B towards Kings Beach/Lake Tahoe. Follow HWY
267 for about 8 miles to the top of Brockway Summit.
Turn RIGHT onto Forest Service Road 73 (aka, Mt. Watson Road.)
Forest Service Road 73 is chip sealed, but is narrow, with several blind
corners, so watch for traffic. After about 6 miles, you will see a sign
pointing left to Watson Lake. (Do not take that turn.) Continue on Forest
Service Road 73 for 1/4 mile.
Turn RIGHT (sharp turn) onto Forest Service Road 06. There may
(or may not) be a Forest Service sign at the corner. Follow this gravel road
(mostly down hill) for 3 miles to Robie Equestrian Park. The
park entrance is on your right and is well
2. Short Route: Follows gravel Forest Service Road 06 for
about 6 Miles. This is the most direct route for vehicles, but it includes a
couple of steep sections of loose gravel. Maintenance of this route is not as
good as for the Main Route.
Directions from DOWNTOWN TRUCKEE:
Take Old Highway 267 towards Kings Beach/Lake Tahoe. After
crossing the Truckee River, go 1/4 mile; look for the Seven Eleven on
Turn RIGHT at the Seven Eleven onto Palisades Rd. (first stop
light after crossing the Truckee River.)
Road makes a sharp LEFT, becoming PONDEROSA DR. Go 1/4
Turn RIGHT on SILVER FIR. Dr. Go 1/4 mile
Turn LEFT on THELIN Dr. Go 1/8 mile
Turn RIGHT onto Forest Service Road 06. Follow this
dirt/gravel road for about 6 miles to Robie Equestrian Park. There are several
side roads along the way; stay on the MAIN gravel roadway, Road 06. The
park entrance is on your left and is well marked.
